We had the best dive bars where everyone knew our names, like Cheers. Affordable, unpretentious seafood right off the docks. Trails not overrun by ticks or selfies. Montauk was quiet, and wild, and adventurous — nobody wore fedoras, and the locals were free and in charge. It used to be different, and so much better. Make Montauk great again.
